Trust relationships and rating social coordinations

Web3 and crypto has mostly been in a single-player mode so far — most interactions involve financial transactions from your wallet (buying, selling, staking tokens or NFTs). But blockchain is about social coordination as much as it is about financial coordination. To drive real utility through social coordination, we need to strengthen primitives around identity and reputation.

In web2 or analog interactions, we depend on some sort of trust systems or social relationships. The early days of file sharing, e-commerce, social and sharing-economy all involved companies managing or enabling a layer of trust for consumers. In real life, people depend on each other for validating claims or evidence of trustworthiness. Important day-to-day decisions involve some type of social attestation.
